The early development imperative

Sponsored by the Council for Early Child Development in partnership with the Human Early Learning Partnership, the Offord Centre for Child Studies and Healthy Child Manitoba this is a pan-Canadian conference on population level measurement of children's development.

This conference will highlight initiatives across the country to better understand and address inequities in our children’s development. There will be a mix of opportunities to hear of the latest research and community innovations from across the country, along with a chance for hands-on skill development in how to implement data collection and take actions for change in your local area. Keynote presentations, panels, workshops and seminars will be combined with informal networking, resource sharing and social events.

SESSIONS TO INCLUDE
- The state of children’s development in Canada – A common analysis of early development
results across the country.
- A Celebration of Dan Offord, creator of the Early Development Instrument
- A platform for action – Implementing effective cross-sectoral policies and programs
- So what? How the data can be valuable to children, parents and communities
- As children grow – The emerging middle development instrument
- Tools for EDI knowledge translation
- Understanding children’s development in Aboriginal and multilingual communities
